Welcome to our new public Facebook page!
We’re excited to share updates on what we’ve been up to over the past few months. We’ve created this public-facing page to promote Quilts for Care Leavers Northern Ireland beyond our closed group.
January Highlights
- After the Christmas break, we hit the ground running. We started the year by offering quilts to the Simon Community — Housing First For Youth, and two quilts were chosen.
- We held two successful sew days in Lurgan and Lisburn.
- We had the privilege of speaking to the Ballyblack Presbyterian Women’s Association.
February Highlights
- We kicked off the month with the Northern Ireland Patchwork Guild, where we spoke about Q4CL NI and held a workshop over the weekend. Three quilt tops were completed — great job, everyone!
- Quilts were offered to Aran House, which supports unaccompanied minors, and seven quilts were delivered.
- We hosted a Sew Day at our Newtownards venue.
March Highlights
- The Team were invited to attend the World Social Work Day conference held by the Northern Health and Social Service Trust. This fantastic event allowed us to showcase our members’ work and discuss our mission. We made valuable connections with health professionals on how to refer to our service.
- We completed a sew day in Lurgan and have another planned in Ballymena at the end of the month.
- We spent an evening with Ballyblack Women’s Institute, discussing our charity’s work.

Upcoming
This month, we’re collaborating with Voice of Young People in Care (VOYPIC) and hope to deliver quilts to them by the end of the month.
