Block Drive
You may not wish to make a whole quilted hug or top, and if this is the case, there is a quilt block pattern published at the start of every month, and if you like it – please feel free to make as many blocks as you wish!
You can then post them on to our local block drive coordinator for collating into whole tops.
Here is some information about how many blocks are required.
Use the Contact Us Form to find out where to post them.
Each month a nominated Q4CL member chooses a particular block design for the monthly block drive. That member will prepare instructions for the block’s construction, often with a unifying colour theme which is then shared with the wider membership.
The cost of quilting and finishing these ‘Hugs’ is sponsored by Q4CL who provide wadding and backings.
Important information
- Follow the instructions for making the block carefully and sew with a scant ¼” seam throughout and press as you piece.
- Use standard weight cotton quilting fabrics to construct your blocks and follow the colour and fabric requests.
- If the seams need to be pressed in a particular direction please do so, and press your completed blocks before sending.
