Make a Hug

So, what is a ‘Quilty’ Hug?

Our quilts are sized to wrap around you, so you get a quilty hug and are therefore longer and narrower than a regular bed sized quilt.

They are designed to be grabbed with a hand at each end and hugged around the body, and still be able to walk without tripping over!

The width should be between 40” and 50” and the length should be between 66” and 72”, but if in doubt please Contact Us.

The finished shape will be a long Rectangle not a Square.

A good rule of thumb is, if the top is at least 20” longer than it is wide.

We also have a long-arming service

If quilting your top is something you don’t enjoy, we can offer a longarming service for you. Tops need to be accompanied by a backing 8” wider and 8” longer than the top and enough binding to cover the perimeter of the hug plus at least 12”. Once received, it will be placed in a queue to be long-armed, and we have a team of finishers who will complete the binding process and attach a Q4CL label. There is a £10.00 charge to cover wadding and thread, this can be paid in person or via bank transfer, please Contact Us for bank details.

We have a central stock of labels, so all completed quilts will be labelled once they have been received. This is to enable us to take a photograph in exactly the same location, so that the presentation of each hug on the portal is identical. It is at this stage that we will allocate a number to the hug.

A cardboard tag with a personal message can be attached to your quilt, please only use your first name.
